Rehabilitation - is the complete or partial restoration of the independence, physical, mental, domestic, social and professional labour capacity of persons with disabilities through a system of medical, psychological, pedagogical, sports, socio-economic and other measures aimed at eliminating or compensating the disability.
Medical rehabilitation - is a system of medical measures aimed at restoring and compensating the body's functions that have been impaired by birth or later due to illness or injury.
Socio-psychological rehabilitation is a system of psychological and social measures aimed at restoring, correcting, or compensating the impaired physical and mental health of persons with disabilities (hereinafter - PWD). Based on the biopsychosocial model, in our rehabilitation institutions, a comprehensive approach to the rehabilitation of PWDs is applied.
The main goals of social-psychological rehabilitation:
a) Restore mental health and effective social behavior;
b) Helping PWDs to adequately assess and accept their illnesses and life limitations;
c) Helping PWDs to adapt to life through existing physical and psychological capabilities.
Services provided within the framework of socio-psychological rehabilitation:
Habilitation - is a process that helps a person with a disability to acquire undeveloped physical and mental functions and skills.
