In order to ensure the participation of civil society institutions in the adoption of legal acts of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the organization of public control over the activities, the new structure of the Public Council under the Ministry has been determined. The Public Council of 9 civil society institutions was established under the Ministry in the elections held in fully transparent conditions with the direct participation of non-governmental organizations.
According to the Law "On Public Participation" the participation of citizens and civil society institutions is envisaged in the preparation and implementation of state policy in various areas of state and social life, in the adoption of decisions at the national and local level and in the organization of public control to the central executive bodies, local executive and local self-government bodies determined by the relevant executive power body.
