The DOST Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population hosted the "Month of Inclusion" project ending celebration, which was devoted to the fifth anniversary of the "Volunteer DOST" program.
State and private sector representatives, NGO representatives and other guests took part in the event.
Anar Aliyev, the deputy minister of labor and social protection of the population, stated that consistent efforts are being made to support the creative potential of individuals from this category and that strengthening the social protection of vulnerable population groups is one of the key tenets of President Ilham Aliyev's successful social policy.
It has been highlighted how crucial the concept of an inclusive society is to the advancement of society and to bringing together public and private organizations in the context of corporate social responsibility.
The event featured an introduction to the exhibition of works created as part of the "Inclusion Month" initiative, as well as performances of inclusive dance called "Danceability" and "Rockabilly dance" by the dance company "Sema" and young people with Down syndrome.
With the cooperation of young people with autism and Down syndrome, the nation hosted its first-ever "Adaptive fashion" night, when specifically created clothing inspired by national ornaments was displayed.
Tunzale Aghayeva, a people's artist, and the autistic youth choir group "Blue Hearts" are Honored Artists.
The attendees watched the report video. According to reports, 11 sub-projects under the three project components have involved 17 partners, 224 beneficiaries, and 110 volunteers.
It should be mentioned that the "Inclusion Month" project sought to establish relationships with public and private organizations within the context of corporate social responsibility, as well as to integrate young people with autism and Down syndrome—including the visually impaired—into society and help them make the most of their leisure time.
