In connection with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3, the winners of the 12th Nationwide Creativity Exhibition-Competition for People with Disabilities, organized by the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population, were awarded prizes.
The award ceremony for the winners of the creativity-exhibition competition, supported by the "Sharg Bazaar" shopping complex and the Azerbaijan Academy of Fine Arts, was held at the museum-exhibition complex of the Academy.
The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population Hidayat Abdullayev, Vice-Rector of the Azerbaijan Academy of Fine Arts, People's Artist, Professor Fuad Salayev, Chairman of the Jury, Professor of the Azerbaijan Academy of Arts, Honored Artist Mammadhuseyn Huseynov, and others.
H.Abdullayev emphasized the special care of President Ilham Aliyev for people with disabilities, highlighting the significant steps taken to strengthen the social protection, rehabilitation, and integration of these citizens into society.
It was noted that the organization of such a nationwide creativity exhibition-competition is another example of attention and care for people with disabilities, aimed at supporting their creative potential and promoting their work within society.
A total of 195 persons with disabilities from Baku and regions presented 2500 handmade works, including paintings, artistic carving, embroidery, carpets and carpet products, weaving, metal and stone works, and more.
At the event, the creativity works were evaluated by the jury in 11 categories. 33 winners were awarded diplomas and prizes in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places, while other participants received encouragement awards and certificates of appreciation.
The handicraft sales exhibition will continue from December 3 to 6 at the Azerbaijan Academy of Arts' museum-exhibition complex.
