Employment Policy and Demographic Development Department is a structural unit of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Department within the scope of the powers granted by its Regulation, participates in policy making process and coordinates work in the field of employment and labour market, labour migration, demography and population density, development of labour forces, as well as the promotion of formal employment.
In its activities, the Department follows the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Civil Service" and other laws, the "Statute of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan" and other decrees and orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, decisions and orders of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, decisions of the Ministry’s Board, the orders of the Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan (hereinafter - the Minister) and the Regulation of the Department.
By performing its duties and exercising its rights, the Department cooperates with other structural units of the Ministry, as well as with central and local executive power bodies, local self-government bodies, appropriate associations, and non-governmental organizations.
