The Disability Policy Department is a structural unit of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Department is responsible for the improvement of legislation and administration in the field of disability and rehabilitation.
The Department defines policy in this field, conductes research and analysis, determines risks related to disability and prepares proposals for preventive measures, improves the efficiency of activities, and controls the quality of state services in disability and rehbilitation fields.
In its activity, the Department complies with the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and international agreements to which the Republic of Azerbaijan is a party, the laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the "Regulation on the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan" and other decrees of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. and orders, decisions and orders of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, decisions of the Board of the Ministry, orders of the Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Department’s Regulation.
While performing its duties and exercising its rights, the Department cooperates with other structural divisions of the Ministry, as well as with central and local executive power, local self-government bodies and non-governmental organizations.
