It has been reported that President Ilham Aliyev signed a law "On Employment" that made several modifications.
Employers who meet their quota requirements will now have the option to apply for employment above and beyond the quota. The amount of additional workplaces over the quota that the employer determines is limited to fifteen.
Funds from unemployment insurance will be used to pay wages for employment contracts signed for a minimum of two years that involve sending people to work in addition to the quota.
Provided that the interest rates for the categories of people in special need of social protection and those who have difficulty finding employment do not exceed the average monthly nominal salary for the nation determined for the previous year, the employer and the relevant executive authority will determine the amount of the portion of the salary for these jobs financed by the unemployment insurance funds. shall be decided in accordance with the agreement reached between the parties.
According to another change, targeted programs will be implemented with the participation of employers selected through competition. Employers who have been in operation for the past year and have no overdue obligations for taxes and other mandatory payments in the Republic of Azerbaijan, who have not reduced the number of employees or cut jobs over the past year, and who have submitted the relevant information to the vacancy bank, will be able to participate in the competition.
Employers who generate long-term, well-suited positions for individuals with special needs for social protection and who struggle to obtain work in the most in-demand professions in the labor market will be given preference under competitive programs.
For a duration of three (three) years, a contract detailing the objectives of the pertinent targeted program, the rights and obligations of the parties, and their responsibilities will be signed with the winning employer.
