On December 10, Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, visited the social service Institution No.1 for individuals with disabilities under the age of 18, located in the Mardakan settlement of Baku.
The Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population Sahil Babayev, informed Leyla Aliyeva on the activities of the social service institution. It was noted that approximately 150 children, who are under state guardianship, live there and receive rehabilitation services.
Leyla Aliyeva got acquainted with the workshops, occupational therapy, exercise, active therapy, music, and sports rooms designed to enhance the children's skills at the institution. The children presented a fashion show, performed dances, and painted on canvas with the guests.
The Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation also visited the Vocational and Labour Rehabilitation Center for people with disabilities in the Ramana settlement of Baku. There, she was informed about the organization of vocational rehabilitation.
It was highlighted that this year, the Center provided services to 500 individuals aged 15-29 with disabilities, and currently, 143 beneficiaries are undergoing vocational training. It was also mentioned that the Center offers accommodation, meals, and rehabilitation services to the participants at state expense.
Leyla Aliyeva became acquainted with the vocational training process at the Center, observed the disabled youth playing board games, and met with members of the national boccia team.
The beneficiaries performed the Azerbaijani National Anthem in sign language. Following that, a fashion show featuring clothing made by the beneficiaries was held.
The youth attending the training course performed the “Innabi” dance, and Leyla Aliyeva danced with them. People with disabilities also sang songs and recited poems by Leyla Aliyeva.
Gifts were presented to both social service institutions by the Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
