Next phase of state support for
individuals deprived of parental care
New legislative acts signed by President Ilham Aliyev - including amendments to the Law on “Social protection of children who have lost their parents and are deprived of parental care" and a related decree to ensure its implementation and the regulation of related is another manifestation of state care for children in the specified category, as well as for individuals from this group.
Under the revised legislation, the one-time social payment granted to individuals from this category upon their first employment has been increased by 15%. The payment, previously set at 5231 AZN (comprising 265 AZN as compensation and at least five times the current average monthly salary, amounting to 4966 AZN), has now been raised to 6000 AZN.
Additionally, children deprived of parental care continue to benefit from a range of legal guarantees, including access to education, healthcare, property and housing rights, and protections related to employment.
