The construction of the Nakhchivan Regional DOST Center is nearing completion, with plans to open it by the end of this year. This update was shared during a recent board meeting at the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population.
Minister Sahil Babayev highlighted that, following President Ilham Aliyev's directives, the country has undergone significant social reforms, with the establishment of DOST centers being a key achievement. He emphasized that the DOST model, initiated by First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva, enables the provision of 160 social services through a single, transparent, and efficient "one-window" approach, enhancing citizen satisfaction.
The number of DOST centers continues to grow. In addition to the new Regional DOST Center in Nakhchivan, additional branches will be established across the regional centers of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
The meeting also reviewed the Ministry's activities in the first half of 2024. The Ministry has focused on social protection and employment programs, digitalizing social services, and implementing the Centralized Electronic Information System for pensions, social payments, labor and employment, disability, and rehabilitation. These efforts have been streamlined through the e-system.
The State Social Protection Fund's performance over the past six months was also discussed. Notable increases in funding for social security were reported, with expenditures rising by 410 million manats to 3 billion 419 million manats, and pension funds increasing by 400 million manats to 3 billion 234 million manats. Overall payments, including pensions, allowances, benefits, and targeted assistance, totaled 4 billion 382 million manats, with social insurance contributions rising by 232 million manats.
In the first half of 2024 alone, 96,100 pensions, allowances, and benefits were proactively assigned through the e-system. The SSPF has received 20 international awards this year and over 40 in the past three and a half years for its reforms.
The board also reviewed the DOST Work Center's efforts, noting its role in supporting residents relocated from occupied territories through public work programs.
Additionally, 42 new professional and qualification standards were approved during the meeting.
