A round table was held in the framework of the international conference on "Social protection, work life and social services in Turkic states" with the participation of delegations from the labor and social protection institutions of member countries of the Organization of Turkic States in Ankara (Turkey).
The purpose of the event is to expand the cooperation among member states of the organization in the fields of labor and social protection, to discuss common challenges in this field, and to exchange successful experiences.
The delegation headed by Sahil Babayev, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population, who is on a visit to Turkey, paid tribute to the Great Leader by laying flower bouquets at his monument in Heydar Aliyev Park in Ankara.
In his speech at the round table, S.Babayev noted that the expansion of relations with Turkic countries and strengthening of Organization is the priority direction of our country's foreign policy. He emphasized the historical importance of the Summit meeting of the heads of state in Shusha on July 5-6 of this year and the signed "Karabakh Declaration" for the development of the integration of the Turkic world.
The minister highlighted the importance of labor market development and the effectiveness of the social protection system in ensuring a decent standard of living of the population, and the importance of exchanging successful experiences in these areas. S. Babayev drew attention to the success of the social reforms carried out in our country, the DOST concept, and the mutual exchange of information on the implementation of the DOST model in our brotherly Uzbekistan.
As a result of the 4 social reform packages implemented in Azerbaijan since 2019, he highlighted the serious increases in social payments, the coverage of vulnerable groups with social services, the automation of social services, the proactive appointment mechanisms established in our country, the innovative advantages of the e-social internet portal and the "Labor and Employment" e-system.
He also indicated that expanding economic cooperation between our countries is closely linked to the free movement of labor resources, mentioning that bilateral agreements on labor migration were signed between Azerbaijan and several Turkic-speaking states. The minister expressed our interest in exchanging positive experiences, and emphasized that this meeting will make an important contribution to strengthening the labor and social protection systems of Organization of Turkic States member countries and expanding cooperation in the mentioned areas among our countries.
At the event, expansion of cooperation of member countries in the field of labor and social protection, common challenges in this field were also discussed and experience exchanges were held.
