The 3rd meeting of the Montenegro-Azerbaijan business forum and the Joint Commission on economic cooperation between the governments of the two countries was held in Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro.
To participate in both events, the delegation led by the co-chairman of the Commission from Azerbaijan, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Sahil Babayev is on a visit to Montenegro. The delegation visited the bust of the great Azerbaijani poet and dramatist Huseyn Javid in the "Royal Park" in Podgorica and laid flowers in front of it.
S. Babayev and Montenegrin co-chairman of the Joint Commission, Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro for economic policy and Minister of Economic Development Nik Gjelosaj participated in the opening ceremony of the Montenegro-Azerbaijani business forum held within the 3rd meeting of the Commission.
Speaking at the event, S. Babayev noted that the relations between Azerbaijan and Montenegro are constantly developing in the spirit of friendship and cooperation, and noted the importance of high-level mutual visits and continuous political dialogue for the future development of our relations. It was brought to attention that the trade turnover of the two countries is also increasing, last year this increase was 54.32 percent.
The importance of such business forums in establishing and expanding relations between the business circles of our countries was emphasized. It was noted that 4 business forums and business meetings have already been held in Baku and Podgorica.
Up to 10 companies from Azerbaijan and 5 companies from Montenegro are participating in today's business forum organized by the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO) and the Economic Chamber of Montenegro.
Speaking, N. Gjeloshaj said that the relations between his country and Azerbaijan are developing on a rising line, purposeful work is being done in this direction, and he expressed his confidence that the current business forum will also bring positive results.
At the meeting of the Joint Commission, the co-chairs of the Commission emphasized the high level of relations between our countries and expressed their agreement on the successful continuation of mutual efforts to deepen our relations.
At the meeting, views were exchanged on future directions of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Montenegro, and it was stated that there is great potential for further increasing the trade turnover.
The future prospects of the cooperation of the two countries in various fields, opportunities for expanding cooperation in energy, transport, mutual promotion of investments, tourism, agriculture, labor and social protection, culture, education and other fields were reviewed.
Issues of mutual interest in priority sectors, as well as opportunities for exchange of experience in the field of renewable energy, etc., were discussed.
Later, S. Babayev and N. Gjeloshaj signed the Protocol on the results of the 3rd meeting of the Joint Commission. The future directions of cooperation are reflected in the document.
