Organized by Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population, the 12th Nationwide Creativity and Exhibition Competition for People with Disabilities was launched in connection with International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3.
The creativity and exhibition contest is being held with the support of the "Sharg Bazaar" shopping complex and the Azerbaijan Academy of Fine Arts.
The event, held at the "Sharg Bazaar" shopping complex from November 30 to December 1, is showcasing 2500 handicrafts by 195 people with disabilities from Baku and various regions of the country.
The exhibition includes works in various categories such as painting, carpet weaving, embroidery, artistic carving, souvenirs made with carving, beadwork souvenirs, and other nominations.
The creative works will be evaluated by a jury, taking into account the age groups of the participants with disabilities. Winners in relevant categories will receive diplomas and prizes, while other participants in the exhibition-competition will be awarded encouragement prizes and certificates of appreciation.
As part of the event, a sales exhibition of handicrafts will take place at the Azerbaijan Academy of Fine Arts' museum-exhibition complex from December 3-6.
The purpose of the contest is to stimulate the creative activities of people with disabilities and support their integration into society.
