A meeting was conducted in the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population to discuss the Ministry's activities and future plans under the "Foster family" care model, which was introduced in our country last year.
Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Vusal Nasirli spoke at the meeting and stressed the value of the "Foster family" care model for the development of children who don't have parental supervision in the home.
It was underlined that the adoption of this new model has created several opportunities to increase the protection of children's rights and preventing children from being deprived of parental care.
The work that has been done to keep children out of institutions, the reintegration of them into institutions, and the upcoming tasks were all covered.
It was reported that, in accordance with the "Foster family" style of care, the Ministry placed 20 children with foster families. Reintegration initiatives led to the return of 123 institutionalized children to their families.
An alternative child care model known as "Foster family" care allows children who have lost their parents or are not receiving parental care to be temporarily placed with a family under contract, allowing them to grow and develop in a family setting while being closely monitored by the state.
