A regular meeting of the collegium was held at the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population
One of the key areas of focus in the Ministry’s activities is the integration of residents relocated to the liberated territories into active employment programs. This was highlighted during the latest meeting of the collegium.
During the meeting, Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population, Sahil Babayev, emphasized that the historic victory achieved in the 44-day Patriotic War, under the leadership of President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev in 2020, remains a source of everlasting pride for the Azerbaijani people.
It was noted that efforts to integrate residents relocated to the liberated territories into active employment programs are expanding, with active and sustained collaboration with employers. To date, employment was secured for nearly 3500 individuals, including the establishment of small family enterprises with the support of self-employment programs for 131 people.
In the first 9 months of this year, more than 300000 people across the country participated in active employment measures. Of these, 124000 individuals were provided with suitable jobs, 11900 people established small enterprises under the self-employment program, 12200 individuals underwent vocational training, and 155200 people were engaged in career orientation services.
The implementation of the “Employment Support Project”, which is being executed by the Ministry with financial assistance from the World Bank and provides significant support to the expansion of the self-employment, was reported. It was noted that, within the framework of the project, small businesses in the production and service sectors had already been established for 17200 individuals.
The meeting also addressed the recruitment and placement of civil servants through competitive exams or interviews, as well as the training and development of them. Additionally, discussions were held on improving the regulatory and legal framework in the areas of labour, employment, and social protection, and on new legislative drafts related to ongoing reforms.
The activities carried out in these areas and the tasks ahead were also discussed.
