Leyla Aliyeva, the Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, along with Arzu Aliyeva, head of the Baku Media Center, visited Rafiga Maksudova, a participant in the "Young Beekeeper" project, at her home in Gabala on October 10.
During the meeting, Leyla Aliyeva had a sincere conversation with the young beekeeping family, inquiring about their activities and listening to their impressions of the first experiences and productivity. In return, Rafiga Maksudova expressed her gratitude to Leyla Aliyeva for her attention and support, gifting her the first honey she harvested in special packaging.
It is noteworthy that since 2021, within the framework of the "Young Beekeeper" project initiated by the IDEA Public Union, and in partnership with the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Employment Agency, and the ABAD public legal entity, 20 young beekeepers in the Gabala had been supported, and they started getting their first products.
The project's aim is to contribute to the conservation of biodiversity, promote beekeeping as a form of eco-entrepreneurship, support natural honey production, and improve the material welfare of young families. As part of the project, selected young individuals underwent a month-long training conducted by professional specialists. Upon completion of the training, they were fully equipped with the necessary bee colonies and hives, beekeeper clothing, equipment for beekeeping and other supplies, and provided with the necessary conditions for their efficient activities.
The young beekeepers will also be supported for product certification, branding, design, and sales organization. These steps will help them introduce their products to a wide customer market and organize sales efficiently in order to reach a competitive level in honey production within a market economy.
