Azerbaijan-Hungary relations are based on strategic partnership, friendship, and mutual respect, and continue to expand year by year. In the trade turnover between the two countries, a 29% increase was observed in 2024.
This was stated during a meeting between Sahil Babayev, the co-chairman of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Governments of Azerbaijan and Hungary, Minister of Labuor and Social Protection of Population and Tamas Torma, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Hungary to Azerbaijan.
It was emphasized that the political will and efforts of the heads of state of Azerbaijan and Hungary have raised bilateral relations to the level of strategic partnership, and satisfaction was expressed regarding the ongoing development of cooperation in various fields.
The activities of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Governments of the two countries were highlighted. It was noted that the 10th session of the Commission was held in Baku last year, and the next session is scheduled to be held this year in Budapest, Hungary. Additionally, the importance of the business forums, business meetings, and other events held in Baku and Budapest in the development of bilateral relations was emphasized.
The meeting also discussed future cooperation in areas such as economics and trade, energy, the development and transmission of green energy, infrastructure, transportation, agriculture, education, culture, social issues, tourism, and more.
