Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population, Sahil Babayev, met with the Minister of Labor and Social Security of the Republic of Turkey, Vedat Ishikhan.
The meeting emphasized the fraternal relations based on mutual respect and trust between the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev and the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, bilateral cooperation as a result of active political dialogue is constantly strengthened, and the relations between our countries are at the level of alliance.
It was reported that the successful ongoing relations within regional and international organizations also encompass the areas of labor, employment, and social protection. It was highlighted that 8 cooperation documents were signed in these areas over the past period, and a new cooperation document project regarding pension provision is currently under consideration.
In a meeting between S. Babayev and the Secretary-General of the Organization of Turkic States, Kubanychbek Omuraliev, the Minister noted the significant achievements in expanding cooperation among member countries in various fields within a short period since the Organization of Turkic States was established 15 years ago. He stressed the importance of developing relations between the labor and social protection institutions of the member countries in the field of labor and social protection.
S. Babayev mentioned the existence of a cooperation platform on family and social policy issues within the Organization of Turkic States and proposed the establishment of a working group on labor and employment, as well as to hold regular meetings of the ministers responsible for labor and employment issues. K.Omuraliev highlighted that expanding relations in the areas of labor and social protection among member states is mutually beneficial and that Organization of Turkic States will continue its efforts in this direction.
S. Babayev also met with the Minister of Labor and Social Security of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Sadık Gardiyanoglu. He emphasized the significant increase in the dynamics of recent bilateral contacts and provided information about the reforms and achievements in the areas of labor, employment, and social protection carried out in Azerbaijan in recent years. S. Gardiyanoglu expressed satisfaction with the regular expansion of bilateral cooperation and stated that efforts in this direction will continue in the coming period.
The meetings took place during an international conference held in Ankara on "Social Protection, Labor, and Social Services in Turkic States," attended by representatives of the labor and social protection institutions of the members of Organization of Turkic States.
