A meeting was held at the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population with Zahra Zumrud Selchuk, the director of Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Center for Islamic Countries (SESRIC), visiting our country to participate in the Halal Business and Tourism Forum held in Azerbaijan on October 8-9.
Anar Karimov, the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population noted the important role of SESRIC in conducting statistical, economic and social researches on member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), as well as in the exchange of experience and technical information.
The Ministry emphasized the importance of continuous partnership with SESRIC. It was reported that the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population and SESRIC in November of last year made it possible to further expand cooperation.
The significance of the OIC Labor Center established in Baku in the development of relations between the Organization's member countries in the fields of labor, employment, and social protection was highlighted.
Z.Z.Selchuk expressed her satisfaction with the growing cooperation between the two institution. The meeting also discussed expanding cooperation between SESRIC and the National Observatory on Labor Market and Social Protection Issues under the Ministry, as well as the Labor Protection Center under the State Labor Inspection Service of the Ministry.
