DOST Agency, under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population, was named the winner of the "European Social Services Awards 2024" (ESSA 2024) competition of the European Social Network for the second time.
The competition aims to evaluate initiatives in social services, focusing on the implementation of creative solutions for caring for individuals, the use of new technological tools, and other significant outcomes.
DOST Agency was awarded the European Social Services Award in the "Digital Transformation" category for ensuring web accessibility for people with disabilities and other risk group representatives.
The award ceremony took place in Lisbon, Portugal. The winners were determined based on a combination of votes from the jury (85%) and public voting (15%). DOST Agency was declared the winner with the highest score among five finalist projects from countries such as the United Kingdom, Spain, and Ukraine in the "Digital Transformation" category.
The project presented by DOST Agency aimed to develop and implement a sustainable mechanism to ensure access to information resources for people with disabilities, make it operational, bridging the gap between the legislative environment and the accessibility of services. As a result, the satisfaction level of people with disabilities consistently remained high (98%).
It is worth noting that this award is the second international recognition from the European Social Network for DOST Agency and its 27th overall international award.
