A video conference meeting took place between Sahil Babayev, the Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Mansurbek Olloyorov, Director of the National Agency for Social Protection under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the historical, cultural, religious, and traditional bonds of friendship and brotherhood between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan were highlighted. It was noted that relations between the two countries have entered a new phase of development thanks to the efforts of their respective leaders. The strategic significance of the Agreement on the Establishment of the Supreme Interstate Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, signed by Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Shavkat Mirziyoyev in August 2023, was emphasized.
The success of bilateral cooperation in labour, employment, and social protection was also noted. Discussions also covered efforts to implement the DOST concept and Azerbaijan's experience in automating social services in Uzbekistan, which are among the achievements of the social reforms carried out in Azerbaijan in recent years. The importance of the exchange of experiences carried out during regular meetings between representatives of the Ministry and the Agency in this field was emphasized. Furthermore, potential future collaboration between the DOST Center for Inclusive Development and Creativity under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan and “International Inclusive HUB” of Uzbekistan, a professional center for inclusive education, was discussed.
The meeting concluded with a review of progress in existing collaborations and discussions on expanding cooperation into new areas.
