As with all areas of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkiye, the collaboration in the fields of labour and social protection continues to expand. This idea was emphasized during a meeting at the Baku DOST Center No. 1 with the delegation led by Lutfihak Alpkan, the Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Security of Turkiye, as part of their visit to Azerbaijan for the COP29 event.
The delegation was introduced to the services provided to the public at the Center. They were informed about the innovative advantages and international achievements of the DOST Concept.
During the meeting, Anar Aliyev, the Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population highlighted that, as a result of the joint efforts of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkiye, the relations between the two brotherly countries have reached the level of alliance. It was also noted that the relations, successfully continuing within regional and international organizations, also encompass labour and social protection.
It was pointed out that eight documents had been signed between Azerbaijan and Turkiye in recent years to expand cooperation in the labour and social protection sector, and that bilateral relations in this area continue to grow, with active exchanges of experience.
The importance of discussions involving high-level officials from various countries and international organizations on green jobs and skills development for a just transition to a green economy during the COP29 event in Baku was emphasized.
Information was provided on the ongoing reforms in Azerbaijan in the fields of labour, employment, and social protection. Lutfihak Alpkan expressed his satisfaction that the high-level relations between the two countries are also successfully continuing in the social sector.
The meeting also included discussions on future cooperation in the labour and social protection sectors.
