Social Support Center, under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population, carried out the "Box for Newborn Girls" project in Khachmaz, aimed at preventing gender-based sex selection.
As part of the project, 30 families in the district with newborn girls (born in August of this year) received a box containing baby supplies, hygiene products, clothing sets, and educational instructions on childcare and early upbringing.
The aim of the project is to encourage the prevention of gender-based sex selection before birth and to provide support to families with newborn girls.
This project was previously successfully implemented in Shamakhi, Tovuz, Masalli, Tartar, Sabirabad, Gusar, Salyan, Bilasuvar, and Aghsu. The project is planned to be extended to other districts in stages.
