Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Sahil Babayev met with Paralympians who won medals at the Paris-2024 Summer Paralympic Games and their coaches.
The minister congratulated our athletes for their high performance at the Paralympic Games and wished them great success in the upcoming events.
It was stated that the ranking of our Paralympic team in 28th place among 169 countries is a high achievement.
It was emphasized that the victories of our Paralympians increased as the result of President Ilham Aliyev's high attention and concern for the development of sports, including the Paralympic movement in our country.
It was noted that the head of state always pays attention to the social welfare of the paralympians, that a special paralympic benefit was established for paralympic champions this year, and that medal-winning athletes and their coaches were awarded. It was also reported that they were awarded with state awards.
At the meeting, which was also attended by young paralympians, it was pointed out that the Children's Paralympic Sports Games, held annually in our country, play an exceptional role in the development of the paralympic movement.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population and the National Paralympic Committee exchanged views on the joint work to be done in the development of this field.
Paris 2024 Summer Paralympic Games medalists Ilham Zakiyev and Lamiya Valiyeva, the head coach of our national parataekwondo team, Farid Taghizade, expressed their gratitude for the attention and expressed their confidence that they will please our country with new victories.
