A meeting was held at the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population with Barbara Rambousek, Director of the Gender and Economic Inclusion Department at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
During the meeting, Anar Aliyev, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population, provided information on active employment programs being implemented in Azerbaijan, as well as projects aimed at expanding employment opportunities for vulnerable groups. Attention was drawn to the creation of small businesses for unemployed and job-seeking individuals under the self-employment program, as well as the organization of vocational training courses for these individuals.
The achievements in the field of digitalization and innovation in employment, including the innovative advantages of the “Labour and Employment” subsystem and the benefits it provides for labour market participants, were also highlighted. It was emphasized that the ongoing 29th session of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Baku serves as an important platform for discussions on topics such as human capital development, green jobs, and decent work for all.
The meeting also included a discussion on future cooperation opportunities with EBRD in the fields of labour, employment, social protection, and the creation of inclusive workplaces.
