Following the 44-day Patriotic War, which saw the Azerbaijan Army emerge victorious under the direction of President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the significant social support program is being effectively carried out for the relatives of those who lost their lives in battle and for those who took part in it.
Within the parameters of that post-war social assistance program administered by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population:
- A total of 23,200 persons received a one-time payment and 105,000 people who are the relatives of war veterans and martyrs received 118,000 monthly social payments;
- 5,28 automobiles and 6,072 apartments and private homes were given to people with war-related disabilities, as well as housing programs for families of martyrs and those with disabilities related to the conflict;
- 11,000 relatives of the families of martyrs and combatants received 65,600 social-psychological assistance and rehabilitation services;
- 58,700 rehabilitation tools were given to 2,173 veterans with war-related infirmities, including 476 who received 572 high-tech, contemporary prostheses;
- 22,000 persons, including 10,600 participants in the self-employment program and members of the families of those who died in battle, were given jobs;
The mentioned social support package covered 128,000 people, and 350,000 support-oriented services were provided to them in the post-war period.
