Transfering a car into ownership

According to subsection 3.14 of the " Conditions and rules of provision with rehabilitation facilities for people with disabilities", after the death of a person with a disability who was provided with a car, the car remains the property of his family and is deregistered by transferring it to the name of one of the family members of the deceased person.

The following documents are requested to be submitted in connection with the transfer of ownership of a car presented by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection:

1. notarized copy of death certificate of the privileged person who was provided with a car;

2. notarized copy of car registration certificate;

3. a written application and a notarized copy of the identity card of the heir who will take ownership of the car;

4. the list of names of the deceased person's heirs (in the form of a certified reference), their written applications and a notarized copy of their identity cards.

According to subsection 3.9 of the above-mentioned conditions and rules, persons with disabilities do not have the right to sell and donate the car. The right to drive a car is granted both to a person with a disability and to a cohabilitng family member with a driver's license.
