A one-time funeral allowance is paid to individuals who undertake the burial of deceased persons belonging to the following four categories:
For insured persons and labour pensioners, the allowance is paid from compulsory state social insurance contributions, while for other categories it is financed from the state budget.
The one-time funeral allowance is assigned in an automated manner from 1 May 2026, based on the registered death record, including the surname, name, patronymic, personal identification number of the deceased, and information about the person who incurred the funeral expenses.
The amount of the one-time funeral allowance is 600 manats for persons receiving lifetime benefits granted to civil servants, benefits based on age, disability, or loss of the breadwinner, as well as for those receiving unemployment insurance payments and insured persons. For labour pensioners, the allowance amounts to three times the minimum monthly labour pension. There is no time limit for applying for the allowance.
If the deceased person is both an insured person and a labour pensioner, the higher amount of the funeral allowance is paid.
In cases where it is not possible to carry out the assignment in an automated manner, the allowance is granted upon application by the insurer in accordance with the form specified in Annex No. 1 of the “Rules for the Assignment, Calculation and Payment of Benefits under Compulsory State Social Insurance and Benefits Paid at the Expense of the Insurer to Insured Persons with Temporary Disability”.
