When a child is born, the family receives a one-time allowance of 600 manats for the birth of the child. If the mother who gave birth is unemployed or, for any reason, the child’s mother is absent, the one-time allowance for the birth of the child is granted to the employed father.
The one-time childbirth allowance is paid by the State Social Protection Fund under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The one-time allowance for the birth of a child is assigned proactively through the electronic system at the moment the right to receive it arises, without requiring the individual to apply.
In cases where two or more children are born, the same one-time allowance is paid for each child, based on the number of children born.
The one-time childbirth allowance is granted after the child’s birth has been registered in accordance with the procedure established by the authorities responsible for civil status registration. In this case, the allowance is paid regardless of how long the child lives after birth.
If the child is stillborn, the one-time childbirth allowance is not granted.
