Transfer of ownership of a passenger car

After a person with a disability who received a free car passes away, the car remains the property of their family and is deregistered by being transferred into the name of one of the deceased person’s family members.

In connection with the transfer of ownership of a passenger car provided by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population, the following documents are requested to be submitted:

  1. A notarized copy of the death certificate of the privileged person who received the passenger car;
  2. A notarized copy of the registration certificate of the passenger car;
  3. A written application of the heir who will acquire ownership of the passenger car and a notarized copy of their identity card;
  4. A named list of the heirs of the deceased person (in the form of a certified certificate), their written applications and notarized copies of their identity cards.

According to subparagraph 3.9 of the procedure approved by the above-mentioned resolution, persons with disabilities do not have the right to sell or donate the car. The right to drive the passenger car is granted both to the person with a disability and to a family member who has a driving licence and lives together with them in the same settlement.
