The implementation of the “Anka” social rehabilitation programme has begun in social service institutions under the Social Services Agency of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population.
This programme is successfully applied in Türkiye and holds particular importance in the field of social protection of neglected, orphaned, and socially vulnerable children.
The social rehabilitation programme, launched in 6 children’s homes and 2 family-type small group homes of the Social Services Agency, aims to identify the potential of children living in institutions, expand their social adaptation opportunities, and develop their future life skills.
Within the framework of the “Anka” social rehabilitation programme, a comprehensive assessment of the needs and risks of 377 children from this category has already been carried out. Based on the results of the assessment, their social-psychological condition, level of development, and individual needs have been determined.
In the initial phase, 63 children have been involved in specially designed group activities aimed at developing social skills, strengthening psychological well-being, and ensuring more successful integration into society. In the next stage, it is planned to involve a further 314 children in group activities.
