Mikhail Pushkin, the director of the International Labor Organization's (ILO) office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia and the Decent Work Technical Support Group, met with representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population.
Anar Karimov, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, emphasized that collaboration with the ILO is particularly significant for the labor, employment, and social protection reforms implemented in our nation.
In the past period, it was noted that Azerbaijan joined up to 60 Conventions of the ILO, two Country Programs on Decent Labor were successfully implemented together with the ILO, and the draft of the next Country Program on Decent Labor was being prepared.
During the meeting, the events to be held jointly with the ILO were discussed within the framework of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), which will be hosted by our country in November this year.
M. Pushkin expressed satisfaction with Azerbaijan's active cooperation with the ILO. He said that the social reforms carried out in our country, as well as the steps taken in the direction of improving the labor legislation, and the achievement of the wide application of innovative solutions in the field of labor and employment, were welcomed by the ILO.
There was an exchange of views on improving the wage system in our country, joint projects and expanding cooperation with the ILO.
