Rehabilitation services were provided to more than 400 children with disabilities at the Centre during the first nine months of this year.
A media tour has been organised to the Nakhchivan Children’s Rehabilitation Centre of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Media representatives were informed about the institution’s activities. It was noted that the Centre provides medical and social-psychological rehabilitation services to children with disabilities in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
In recent years, significant steps have been taken to strengthen the institution’s material and technical capacity. In particular, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation has donated a number of modern rehabilitation equipment items to the Centre.
The institution applies various physiotherapy methods, including paraffin therapy, infrared therapy, microwave diathermy, interferential therapy, electrophoresis, hydrotherapy in a pool, phonophoresis, electrical muscle stimulation, massage, therapeutic physical exercises, galvanisation and electrical stimulation, among others.
An individual rehabilitation programme is developed for each child undergoing a rehabilitation course at the Centre. Based on these programmes, support is provided to develop their functional abilities and facilitate their integration into daily life and society.
During the first nine months of this year, rehabilitation services were also provided to 434 children with disabilities at the Centre.
In addition, the “RehaBus” (Rehabilitation Bus) service helps improve access for children with disabilities to outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation services.
Media representatives familiarised themselves with the facilities created at the Centre for children with disabilities, the rehabilitation methods applied and the service delivery process.
