One of the active employment programmes implemented for jobseekers and unemployed persons is the organization of vocational training courses for them.
Based on referrals from local bodies of the State Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population or DOST centres, jobseekers and unemployed persons are referred to vocational training courses in the following cases:
Vocational training is organized free of charge by the Agency, and unemployed persons involved in vocational training are also paid a stipend amounting to 50 percent of the minimum wage during the training period.
It should be noted that, as with other active employment measures, the scope of vocational training programmes is expanding year by year. Last year, the State Employment Agency involved 18.4 thousand individuals in vocational training, which is 7.1 times higher compared to 2018.
