February 2 is Azerbaijan Youth Day
Last year, more than 55000 young people were employed by the State Employment Agency, and 2250 small businesses were created for young people.
One of the key goals of the active employment measures of the State Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population is to ensure youth employment and support their access to small businesses.
Last year, the Agency provided suitable jobs for 55063 young people and, under the self-employment program, 2250 young individuals were provided with assets to establish small businesses.
Additionally, 7716 young people were enrolled in vocational training courses by the State Employment Agency over the past year, where they learned trades in line with the demands of the modern labour market. One of the Agency's active employment programs, career counseling services aimed at supporting vocational and professional interests, reached nearly 204000 individuals, mostly young people, last year.
Several other projects are also being implemented to address youth employment issues. One such project is the "Mobile Coffee Shops" initiative, which is being implemented with the joint support of the State Employment Agency and the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) under the Ministry of Economy. This project provides small businesses in the field of barista services for young people who want to work in this area in Baku and the Absheron. The "Mobile Coffee Shops - Regional" project has also been launched, and applications for participation are being accepted.
Additionally, webinars, conferences, career fairs, and job fairs are being organized for youth in Baku and the regions, while the "Alo Career" support service is also operational. These events provide information to young people on topics such as career planning, choosing the right profession/vocation, job search strategies, CV preparation, cover letters, interview preparation, and more.
