A media tour was organized at the DOST Inclusive Development and Creativity Center operating under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Media representatives familiarized themselves with the conditions created at the Center to expand the creative potential of individuals from vulnerable groups. The Director of the Center, Elnara Ansari, provided participants of the media tour with detailed information about the Center’s activities, implemented inclusive projects, and the work carried out in various creative fields.
It was noted that since its inauguration in 2021 with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, and their daughter Leyla Aliyeva, more than 900 citizens have benefited from the services of the Center.
Established at the initiative of First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva, the Center provides training, as well as social-pedagogical development and psychological support services to members of martyr families, persons with disabilities related to the war and their children, children who have lost their parents or are deprived of parental care, members of low-income families, and persons with disabilities.
Currently, 281 individuals from five vulnerable categories are developing their skills across 14 creative fields at the Center, its Ismayilli “DOST House” branch, and the Karabakh “DOST House” division. During the current year, 261 new beneficiaries from vulnerable groups have been admitted to the Center and its branches. In addition, more than 150 events have been organized at the Center and its branches to contribute to the development of an inclusive society and the social adaptation of individuals from vulnerable groups.
It was also reported that, with the organizational support of the Heydar Aliyev Center, the DOST Inclusive Development and Creativity Center was successfully represented at the “Osaka, Kansai Expo 2025” World Expo held in Japan this year.
Graduated beneficiaries continue their education at higher education institutions across the country, including Karabakh University. Two members of the Center have been awarded the Presidential Prize, and more than ten beneficiaries have been engaged as trainers at the Center and its branches.
Media representatives were informed about a pilot project concerning the development of a sales portal for handicrafts produced at the Center. It was noted that through the portal, handicrafts created by beneficiaries from vulnerable groups and trainers will be presented to a wider audience.
It was emphasized that detailed information will be provided to the public after the project is fully completed.
Media representatives also observed the training process in the creative studios, reviewed creative products, and received answers to their questions regarding the Center’s activities.
