During the medical assessment of citizens called up for compulsory military service, final medical examinations are conducted for conscripts who have received the following conclusions:
- Category “B” – fit for non-standard active military service;
- Category “Ç” – temporarily unfit for active military service due to health reasons, with deferment granted;
- Category “C” – unfit for active military service in peacetime and fit with limitations in wartime;
- Category “D” – unfit for military service in both peacetime and wartime.
These examinations are conducted at the Medical Assessment Center of the State Medical-Social Expertise and Rehabilitation Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population.
The Center is equipped with the latest modern medical equipment. Using this equipment, specialized medical professionals conduct complete blood and biochemical analyses, ophthalmological examinations, audiometry, BERA tests, spirometry, ultrasound examinations, electroencephalography, echocardiography, electromyography, X-ray examinations, gastroscopy, and dental examinations.
As a result of the final medical examinations, the reason for unfitness indicated in the referral is either confirmed under the same category, confirmed under a different category, or not confirmed under any category.
The decision is entered into the electronic system, and the conscript is informed electronically.
It should be noted that final medical examinations of citizens called up for compulsory military service have been carried out by the Agency since July 1, 2024.
