Pensions are granted and paid to citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as foreigners and stateless persons permanently residing in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, on equal terms with citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in accordance with the Law “On Labour Pensions”.
A labour pension is a monthly monetary payment to citizens determined in accordance with the procedure and conditions stipulated by the Law “On Labour Pensions” for the purpose of compensating for the wages and other income received by persons insured under compulsory state social insurance prior to the appointment of a labour pension to them, or the income lost by their family members due to the death of insured persons.
According to the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated February 3, 2025, “On Amendments to the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan ‘On Labour Pensions’”, the minimum amount of a labour pension has been set at 320 manats as of February 1, 2025.
In accordance with the Law, the following types of labour pensions are established:
- Labour pension for old age;
- Labour pension for disability;
- Labour pension for loss of the breadwinner.
Persons who have different pension rights under the laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan are granted only one pension at their own discretion.
