A meeting of the Working Group on "Inclusive social development and social security" was held in connection with the implementation of the goals envisaged in the "Socio-economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2022-2026".
A report on monitoring and evaluation of the work done in the first half of 2024 in the meeting organized in the format of a video conference on the goals of the Strategy "Each citizen benefits from development" and "High and fair social security" (National Priority "Society based on dynamic, inclusive and social justice") was discussed.
The chairman of the working group, deputy minister of labor and social protection of the population, Anar Aliyev said that measures and social programs for the mentioned goals have been expanded year by year, and important steps have been taken in that direction this year as well. The achievements of the social reforms were brought to attention.
Ayaz Museyibov, deputy executive director of the Center for Analysis and Communication of Economic Reforms, informed about the measures implemented in the first half of the year, completed or ongoing works within the framework of the goals of the Strategy for 2024, and emphasized the main challenges and recommendations.
Then, the deputy chairman of the working group, the deputy head of the analysis department of the IITKM, Elnur Alakbarov, presented the report on the work done in three directions of activities for the purpose of "benefiting every citizen from development". As a result of the monitoring and assessment of the implementation of the objectives of "Improving the wage system", "Stimulating the development of employment in the private sector" and "Increasing the efficiency of employment", the main calls and recommendations were brought to attention.
Then discussions were held regarding the directions of action for the goal of "High and fair social security, inclusive society".
By the members of the Working Group on the goals of "Creating additional opportunities for the social protection of the low-income and poverty-sensitive class", "Ensuring the financial stability of the pension system and expanding the coverage of the state provision of pensioners" and "Increasing the provision of sustainable social services to socially vulnerable population groups" discussions were held, proposals were voiced.
In addition to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population and the Center for Analysis and Communication of Economic Reforms, the Working Group on "Inclusive Social Development and Social Security" includes the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Science and Education, Health "ABAD" public legal entity, Central Bank, State Committee on Family, Women and Children's Problems, State Migration Service, Youth Fund are represented under the Ministry, State Agency for Citizen Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
