An event was held to celebrate Malaysia’s National Day
The Embassy of Malaysia in our country organized an event dedicated to National Day of Malaysia in our country. The event began with the national anthems of Malaysia and Azerbaijan.
Ahmad Kamrizamil Bin Mohd Rza, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Malaysia to Azerbaijan, spoke about the history of his country’s independence and emphasized the importance of developing relations with Azerbaijan.
Sahil Babayev, the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, expressed his congratulations to the ambassador and the friendly people of Malaysia on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He noted that political and diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Malaysia are at a high level, and the dynamic development of intergovernmental relations and the expansion of cooperation is very satisfying. He highlighted the importance of developing new directions of collaboration, including investment, trade, and humanitarian fields.
S.Babayev stated that the “Joint Declaration on Friendship and Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Malaysia”, signed in Baku in 2014, created a strong foundation for the development of our relations. Our country collaborates effectively with Malaysia within various regional and international organizations, including the UN, the Non-Aligned Movement, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. We highly appreciate Malaysia's stance towards Azerbaijan in the international arena and its support for our sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The minister noted that to date, 10 documents related to cooperation in various fields were signed between our countries. He highlighted that in the first eight months of this year, trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Malaysia increased by 60% compared to the same period last year. He also mentioned that Malaysia has implemented a visa-free regime for Azerbaijani citizens, which contributes effectively to the deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation.
S.Babayev expressed confidence that our Malaysian friends would actively participate in the upcoming 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) to be held in Baku in November this year. He reiterated his congratulations on this significant day, wishing the Malaysian people continued prosperity and well-being.
