An official reception was organized in Baku on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.
First, the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Tajikistan were played.
Abdurahmon Ilhom Barotzoda, Ambassador of Tajikistan to our country, spoke about the history of his country's independence and the development of relations between our countries.
Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Sahil Babayev congratulated the friendly Tajik people on the occasion of Independence Day on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Noting that Azerbaijan and Tajikistan are closely connected with each other by ethnic, religious, historical and cultural roots and common moral values, the minister said that there are high-level political relations between the two countries.
He noted that with the mutual visits and joint efforts of the heads of state of the two countries, our relations are developing on a rising line, cooperation between our countries in a number of fields, including trade, economy, transport and cultural fields.
The crucial role of the "Declaration on Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Tajikistan" signed in May of this year in raising our relations to a new stage was emphasized.
It was noted that the Zangezur Corridor will be the most important part of the Middle Corridor connecting Asia and Europe, and that our overall strength will increase with the addition of Tajikistan to this route.
Stating that our country is actively preparing for the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) to be held in Baku in November, the minister said that he believes that our Tajik friends will make a great contribution to the successful holding of this conference.
S. Babayev expressed confidence that relations between the two countries will continue to develop.
