A video conference was held between Anar Aliyev, Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population, and Mansurbek Olloyerov, Director of the National Agency for Social Protection under the President of Uzbekistan.
The meeting noted that Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, which share a common history, religion and culture, have traditionally maintained friendly and fraternal relations and are strategic partner countries. It was emphasized that the “Treaty on the Establishment of the Supreme Interstate Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan,” signed by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in August 2023, is of particular importance for the dynamic development of the strategic partnership.
The importance of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation signed between the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population and the National Agency for Social Protection under the President of Uzbekistan in 2023, as well as the Action Plan for 2025–2027 signed last year for the implementation of this document, in expanding relations was highlighted.
The cooperation agenda between the two institutions was discussed, including the organisation and digitalisation of public social services and active exchanges of experience in the field of rehabilitation of persons with disabilities. The international forum “SocGov 2026: Smart Analytics for Smart Governance,” to be held in Khankendi on October 23, 2026, organised by the DOST Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population, was also discussed. It was noted that the forum would create broad opportunities for exchanging experience in the digitalisation of social services and the application of artificial intelligence in the social sector.
The meeting featured an exchange of views on future cooperation in the field of labour and social protection.
