A Regional DOST Center is also being built in Nakhchivan city, and it will be put into operation within this year. This was mentioned during an information session held on the work carried out in the fields of labour, employment, and social protection in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the tasks ahead.
Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population Anar Aliyev highlighted that the expansion of the DOST service network across the country also covers the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The Minister noted that it is planned to establish DOST branches in all regional centers of the autonomous republic, and the design work for this had already been completed.
The results of the activities of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for 2024 were presented. It was noted that in the field of social security, in the last year, 2200 people were employed, nearly 2000 individuals participated in self-employment programs, 210 people were involved in vocational training, and 1700 people were provided with career counseling services.
Last year, more than 600 people with disabilities and about 550 people under the age of 18 with disabilities received rehabilitation services in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Additionally, 257 elderly and disabled people received social and domestic services in their homes, and 2100 rehabilitation devices were provided to people with disabilities.
Since the beginning of the previous month, the "Rehabus" service has been launched to increase the accessibility of outpatient and community-based rehabilitation services for people with disabilities in the autonomous republic.
The efforts to create new social service institutions in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the introduction of electronic services in the fields of labour, employment, and social protection, and the implementation of proactive appointment mechanisms were highlighted.
According to the results of the 2024 "ASAN service index" evaluation, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic ranked first among central executive authorities in the autonomous republic.
