The next meeting of the Tripartite Commission on Social and Economic Affairs, which includes representatives of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (ATUC), and the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ASK), was held.
The meeting was opened by ASK Vice President Vugar Zeynalov, who emphasized the importance of the effective discussions held within the Commission on improving labour legislation and the ratification process of the International Labour Organization (ILO) Conventions.
The work carried out by the Commission in accordance with its Work Plan was noted, and the issues on the current meeting’s agenda were presented.
During the meeting, the draft General Collective Agreement for 2026–2028 to be signed between the Cabinet of Ministers, ATUC, and ASK was reviewed.
The participants were informed about the consistent reforms implemented in recent years to strengthen social protection of the population. In addition, purposeful measures taken to combat informal employment and reforms carried out in the social insurance system were discussed. Matters related to the parties of collective agreements, in line with the relevant ILO Convention, were also addressed.
