The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population will launch the second phase (2026–2029) of the “Employment Support Project,” which is implemented with the financial support of the World Bank.
This project, which plays an important role in expanding the self-employment programme, aims to support persons with disabilities, war participants and members of martyrs’ families, women, and other individuals from vulnerable groups in establishing small businesses in production and service sectors.
Although the initial phase of the “Employment Support Project” covering 2020–2025 envisaged the involvement of 22 thousand unemployed persons in self-employment activities, as a result of the successful implementation of the project, a total of 26.7 thousand people were involved. In the next phase, support is planned to be provided to another 30 thousand people for establishing small businesses.
Due to its successful implementation, the “Employment Support Project” was awarded a high distinction by the World Bank in 2024.
