A meeting was held with the International Monetary Fund mission to Azerbaijan at the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population.
At the meeting with the mission headed by Anna Bordon, Minister of Labuor and Social Protection of Population Sahil Babayev provided information about the reforms carried out in the field of labour, employment, and social protection in our country.
It was noted that regular increases in wages were provided, and the minimum wage increased by 3,1 times since 2018. The dynamics of the continuous growth in the number of employment contracts from year to year were emphasized. The achievements made in expanding the scope of active employment measures and the employment programs implemented in our liberated territories were brought to attention.
The steps taken in the areas of increasing the skills and competitiveness of the workforce in accordance with the requirements of the labour market, and developing and approving professional and qualification standards were discussed. The advantages of the "Labour and Employment" subsystem, which is an important innovative success and is highly appreciated at the international level, were noted.
Pension increases, steps taken to expand the scope of pension provision, and the fact that the minimum pension will be increased again in our country from February 1 were brought to attention.
The meeting exchanged views on the reforms implemented in the field of labour, employment and social protection.
