At the World Social Security Forum of the International Social Security Association (ISSA) held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the social reforms implemented in Azerbaijan in recent years, as well as the DOST model, were highly appreciated.
As clear evidence of this recognition, during the Forum, Zakha Mirzayev, Chairman of the Management Board of the State Social Protection Fund (SSPF) under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, was elected as a member of the ISSA Bureau, which is the Association’s supreme governing body.
Additionally, upon the presentation of ISSA President Mohamed Azman, Farid Mammadov, Chairman of the Management Board of the DOST Agency under the Ministry, was elected as the Chairman of the ISSA Technical Commission on Policy Analysis and Research for the 2026–2028 term.
Farid Mammadov will oversee the determination of the Commission’s deputy chairs, as well as the preparation and implementation of the next three-year action plan.
It should be noted that both the DOST Agency and SSPF were also awarded by ISSA at the Forum.
ISSA, which unites about 330 institutions from more than 160 countries, is one of the most influential international organizations in the field of social security.
Being represented in the Association’s supreme governing bodies provides the opportunity to actively participate in making key decisions, setting budget strategies, and defining priority goals for the organization’s operations.
