A seminar on the ILO’s “Self-assessment methodology for social dialogue institutions” is being held jointly organized by the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population.
The event is attended by representatives of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population, the Ministry of Economy, the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation of (AHIK), the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ASK) and the ILO.
The opening of the seminar was addressed by Fuad Heydarov, Head of the Labour Policy Department of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population, Igor Zemlyansky, Representative of the ILO Social Dialogue, Labour Relations and Labour Management Division, and Rainer Pritzer, Senior Specialist on Social Dialogue and Labour Management, Vugar Zeynalov, Vice President of the ASK, and Jamaladdin Guliyev, Advisor to the Chairman of the AHIK.
The speeches emphasized that Azerbaijan, which has ratified 59 ILO Conventions and 1 Protocol, is one of the countries in the CIS that has adopted the most ILO standards. The activities of the Tripartite Commission on Social and Economic Issues, represented by the Government, AEC, and AEC, based on enhanced social dialogue, were discussed.
It was brought to attention that, by a joint decision of the participants in the social dialogue (Government, ASK, AHIK), the General Collective Agreement for 2023-2025 was signed in our country, and regular discussions were held in the Commission on the work done within the framework of that Agreement.
The importance of the “Self-assessment methodology for social dialogue institutions”, developed by the ILO in 2021 and aimed at creating the opportunity to achieve socially just and economically successful results by strengthening the impact of social dialogue in countries, was noted.
In the first session of the seminar, ILO experts presented the methodology. The two-day seminar will include sessions and discussions based on the presentations of ILO experts on the methodology on the topics of “Assessment of Inclusion”, “Efficiency Assessment”, etc.
