Vugar Behbudov, Chairman of the Board of the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population, visited Second World War participant Agababa Isgandarov on the occasion of his 100th birthday.
Agababa Isgandarov, who was wounded during the battles for Berlin in the war, was later assigned a second-degree disability status.
The purposeful measures implemented in Azerbaijan in the field of social protection for Second World War participants also cover Agababa Isgandarov. He receives monthly social payments.
Every year, ahead of the anniversary of the Victory over German fascism in the Second World War, he also receives one-time financial assistance in accordance with Orders signed by President Ilham Aliyev. In addition, he has been provided by the state with a three-room apartment and a car.
During the meeting, the Chairman of the Agency held a conversation with the elderly veteran and noted that he would continue to be surrounded by state care in the future as well.
Agababa Isgandarov shared his memories of the war years and spoke about his participation in battles. He emphasized that he has always felt proud of Azerbaijan’s glorious historic Victory and the bravery displayed by Azerbaijani servicemen during the Patriotic War.
Agababa Isgandarov has been awarded numerous medals for his participation and heroism in the Second World War.
