Within the framework of the “Social Work in Education” service implemented by the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, social workers have made a total of 1,197 visits to schools during the reporting period.
This service, implemented since 2023 through cooperation between the Agency and the State Agency for Preschool and General Education under the Ministry of Science and Education, has provided initial assessments for 4,755 children at schools.
Detailed assessments were conducted through home visits to the families of 1,909 children identified as being at higher risk. As a result, socially oriented work was carried out with their families, and school attendance was restored for 429 children from the risk group.
Neglected and unaccompanied children were placed in relevant Children’s Home social service institutions of the Agency, while some were directed to individual education. In addition, speech therapy services were provided to children experiencing speech and communication difficulties.
This service aims to support children’s academic success and ensure their social protection by providing social services to schoolchildren and their families.
The activities also focus on promoting care and attention towards children, preventing ill-treatment and violence against them, and increasing awareness in this field.
